what is BAYC?

The Bored Ape Yacht Club is a collection of 10,000 Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) that are designed to be styled as Apes and generated on the Ethereum blockchain. It draws influence from NFT initiatives like CryptoPunks, where each NFT has a completely personalised appearance. Depending on what the Ape is wearing, doing, and its setting, each Ape has a distinctive rarity.

Each Ape avatar is an ERC-721 NFT. Each token is non-fungible, which means it is unique and cannot be used interchangeably with any other coin or token. Seven characteristics that an Ape possess include: eyes, mouth, clothes, earrings, fur, hat, and background. Also, each feature comes in a wide range of aesthetic variations. There are a certain number of each look, therefore some are statistically rarer than others.

When you consider all of an ape's characteristics, you can rank them according to their rarity. Because of its high popularity, BAYC and its other collections have increased in price. There are no longer any mint spaces available, hence they are only accessible on the secondary market.

benefits

The so-called bathroom, which is effectively a virtual hangout with a canvas and is only available to wallets that contain at least one ape, is one of the benefits of owning a Bored Ape NFT. Owners are free to doodle, write profanities, or do anything they like in this area. Every fifteen minutes, each ape-holder is permitted to paint a pixel on the toilet wall. In essence, purchasing an ape NFT entitles the owner to membership in a closed club with a limit on the number of members.

Owning a highly valued NFT that is well-known in a community is similar to purchasing an expensive artwork. Its worth is determined from the owner's personal subjective assessment of what it represents to him or her. Some customers who purchase these NFTs consider them as investments. There is a limited amount of them available, and as their demand increases and their price rises, they could become a worthwhile investment.

two variations of BAYC

A group of Apes called MAYC is comparable to the original BAYC but has a mutated, zombie-like appearance. A mutant serum vial of a random tier—M1, M2, or M3—was airdropped to owners of the first 10,000 BAYC NFTs. Wallets containing NFTs received them randomly. If M1 or M2 mutant serum were given to an Ape, they could create a new mutant Ape that has similar features with its original form whereas M3 serum vials could create a brand new mutant Ape regardless of it original form, providing it an opportunity to be even more uncommon.

It is only available to Ape holders. A Club Dog NFT with a variety of qualities and rarities was able to be minted by wallets holding an ape. With the exception of the gas fee, these dogs were free to claim. For a brief period, any secondary sales carried a 2.5 percent royalty fee that donated to animal welfare organisations.
